Wilhelm Friedemann was the eldest son of the great Johann Sebastian Bach. J.S. Bach was Wilhelm Friedemann Bach’s first music teacher. W.F. Bach later studied at the University of Leipzig. W. F. Bach was appointed organist of the Sophienkirche in Dresden and later accepted the same position at the Liebfrauenkirche in Halle. Even though Wilhelm Friedemann Bach was widely regarded as one of the most outstanding organists, he spent his last 20 years without any official job.
