Boccherini lived in Paris before settling in Spain. Boccherini was a composer and cellist for the Infante Don Luis and other nobility and patrons. Boccherini assumed the position of the court composer to King Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia. Boccherini’s compositions are part of standard repertoire of many modern cellists.
