The noted Russian composer, pianist and conductor Anton Arensky studied with Rimsky-Korsakov. Arensky later joined the Moscow Conservatory as a professor of composition. Arensky’s students included Scriabin and Rachmaninov. Arensky's numerous works seem to be greatly influence by the music of Tchaikovsky. In 1895 Arensky was appointed music and artistic director of the Imperial Chapel, an important job that he successfully carried for over 6 years. Arensky’s career as conductor and pianist took him all over Russia and Western Europe.
