A distinguished Danish composer and violinist Johan Lauritz Walbom Amberg began his musical career as a singer studying at The Royal Danish Academy of Music. Due to some problems with his voice Johan Amberg was forced to abandon his singing career and had to switch to violin. From 1877 to 1905 Johan Amberg was a violinist in the Royal Danish Orchestra. Beginning 1905, Johan Amberg dedicated himself entirely to composition. Johan Amberg’s music is still performed.
