The most important musician of the Venetian Renaissance, Giovanni Gabrieli assumed a lifetime position as organist of the St. Marco Basilica. As a composer, Gabrieli was recognized all over Europe. Perfectly familiar with acoustical effects of the great basilica, Gabrieli used contrasting groups of vocalists and instrumental ensembles to reach the effects never before exercised by any composer. Gabrieli's Jubilate incorporates double choir and brass that became his unique style of Gabrieli’s composition.
