Jacques Offenbach

Jacques Offenbach short biography
A distinguished cellist, conductor and composer, Jacques Offenbach studied at the Paris Conservatoire. Offenbach worked as a cellist at the Opéra-Comique and almost immediately began a successful career as a cello virtuoso. Offenbach was appointed conductor and music director of the Théatre Français. In 1855, Offenbach established his own theatre, where his compositions were staged, always with great success.
