An important French organist, composer and pedagogue, Charles-MarieWidor was appointed organist at St. Sulpice in Paris, the position he held for 64 years. Widor was an outstanding teacher; his students included Tournemire, Vierne, Albert Schweitzer, Marcel Dupré, Honegger and Milhaud. Widor's many compositions include chamber music, choral, and orchestral works with symphonies that feature the organ.
