Cziffra short biography

One of the most celebrated piano virtuosos, György Cziffra was born to a poor family of gypsy musicians. At age 5, Cziffra was working at a circus, making improvisations at the requests from the audience. At ten, Cziffra started his music studies at the Budapest conservatory. Soon Cziffra’s records were introduced in Western Europe, creating a legendary fame for the pianist. One of the music critics in London wrote: ‘The audience witnessed the piano playing never to be equaled'.
