A distinguished Italian composer and music researcher, Francesco Malipiero studied music in Venice and Bologna. Malipiero was appointed professor of the Conservatory of Parma, at the University of Padua, and in Venice. Malipiero’s theoretical research is related to the early Italian music. Malipiero edited works of many important Italian masters, including Monteverdi and Vivaldi and published the compositions. Rispetti e strambotti is among Malipiero’s best-known chamber works. Malipiero’s main influences came from the early Italian music and French traditions of the early 20th century.
