A noted English singer, composer and vocal teacher, William Shakespeare studied with Bernard Molique and Sterndale Bennett in London and later, composition with Carl Reinecke in Leipzig. Shakespearewas a voice student of Giovanni Battista Lamperti in Milan. In 1875, Shakespeare returned to London where his outstanding singing career began. In 1878, Shakespeare assumed the position of professor of the Royal Academy of Music. Shakespeare is an author of many important books on the art and techniques of singing.
