A great violinist, composer and teacher, Henri Vieuxtemps played his first public concert at the age 6. Vieuxtemps was a student of Charles de Beriot in Paris. Admired by Schumann and Paganini, Vieuxtemps played hundreds of concerts all over Europe and United States. Very often Vieuxtemps performed his own music at the concerts. In 1871, Vieuxtemps assumed professorship at the Brussels Conservatoire, where one of his students was Eugene Ysaye.
